Morning at Devil's Elbow

I love how the morning light hits this bend in the river. The soft light illuminating the riverbed is a beautiful contrast to the cool, damp shadows of the forest. Close to home, the North Fork Coeur d'Alene provides endless subject matter. This is one of my favorite locations to linger at. I can spend hours fascinated by all there is to watch: the changing light, the fish, the insects, the effects of the wind, the patterns of the water moving over and around rocks, and so much more.
