Oil painting on linen done almost entirely en plein air, with exception to touch up in the studio. Carrabassett Vally in Maine is absolutely gorgeous during autumn. It was very stormy this time of year and I got caught in a downpour of rain during both occasions I painted on site. At times, I actually took cover in my car multiple times to avoid rain. This experience epitomizes what Plein air painting is all about; dealing with the elements regardless of how bad the conditions are, in order to achieve a sense of feeling and beauty of the scene before you.
