The Battery

This is a painting of the park at the Battery in Charleston, SC. It is the view seen when standing in the Gazebo in the center of the park. I wanted to show the magic of the dappled light created as it filters through the branches of the grand old trees. It is done in oil with cold wax on canvas using palette knives and an occasional brush.
