This is a studio painting done from numerous plein air studies in the Hope Valley approximately 50 miles south of Lake Tahoe, CA. It was late in the winter but the temperatures that year in the Sierras was high and the snow was thawing earlier than usual and the weather was terrific. I did several 6" x 8" studies near here and picked the best to do this studio painting.
