The sun set across Puget Sound was amazing from the beach, but I'm sure it didn't compare to view aboard a sailboat. This original oil on panel painting was inspired by a recent trip to Seattle, Washington. I took serval photos of the sun descending then chose a few to work from. Changing the scale of the boats and simplifying the sky were just a few of the adjustments I chose to make.
