Clouds dominate a view of Ogdensburg NY downriver from my home in Maitland ON; just two steeples and an apartment block extend above the shoreline in the middle distance. This was simply a bright silver-grey morning. The river surface is flat for miles only disturbed by local currents and back eddies. Shapes change with distance; colours are used with restraint to warm or cool. Gulls fly above but are used as accents. I painted this from the end of my dock.
