Bull City Revival
Having worked for the childhood home of Edward Hopper, I have always been inspired by his work. On a daily basis, I was able to see the very light that he depicted in his astonishing interiors. I was inspired to paint this Hopper-esque scene in downtown Durham, NC where old mills and tobacco factories are being re-purposed as restaurants and boutiques. Focusing on the streaming light across the cityscape, I aimed to capture the colorful orange/red buildings and the uplifting blue of a typical North Carolina sky.
