Closing Up Shop

I was on of 30 invited artists of all media (poetry, video, music, painting) chosen to record the historical mill before it was converted to a resort for art and culture. On the guided tour, this interior took my breath away - I gasped out loud. One charcoal artist and I were the only ones who chose to paint this interior devoid of all the machinery. It was cold, damp, quite dark, and massive - I was awe-struck. I count this among my personal favorites over my plein air years.
