Summertime in the Mountains

This is a plein air painting done in the mountains near Cashiers N.C. I had been to see a plein air exhibit of some really great artists and was inspired to get out there and try my hand. I found this lovely spot off the main road in a little development on the lake and decided it was a great composition to paint. Everytime I paint outside I am so overwhelmed with a feeling of joy and the beauty of my surroundings. It's a wonderful experience.
