Betelgeuse Supernova

Betelgeuse Supernova, Nocturne
Betelgeuse Supernova
This depicts the massive slashpile burned in Sourdough Canyon during winter of 2023 (it burned for 3 months). The first night I saw it, the bonfire was enormous. A few times a week I skied the groomed trail, saw the smoldering pile and was accompanied by the Orion constellation. It has recently been observed that Betelgeuse, (the central red star) is nearing the end of its life. If we’re incredibly lucky, we will witness it supernova in our lifetime.
