Of Course the Singing Cowboy, Gene Autry. I started off painting his likeness in a traditional manner but hated it. So, I sanded it down and began again this time Istarted with the shadow shape under the hat.Bingo, I had the concept for completing the painting. Instead of rendering it I found that by eliminating the details I got a wonderful contemporary likeness and I love it! Brighter and more modern than most of my western pieces, but IT WORKS!
