On an early spring day while fixing fence at our farm, my artist eye stopped my working to take in the sight at the top of the hill. Three Moma cows were feeding their babies underneath a breathtaking sky. They appeared as silhouettes on the hilltop. I took a quick photo or two with my trusty cell phone and tried as best I could to capture the colors, values and the feeling of that moment in my mind until I could get back to my studio and get it on canvas. I thoroughly enjoyed painting this scene from our farm and capturing that magical spring moment.
