Christmas Day in 2020 was freezing cold and snowy in East TN. My husband and I ventured out to nearby Laurel Creek Trailhead and it was beautiful. I sketched with shivering fingers and took photos and completed this painting in oils in the warmth of my studio. This painting gave life to a series of paintings and a booklet entitled 'My Favorite Places'. This painting was on display at our local frame shop until I picked up recently and did a final layer and varnish. From the end of 2020 until 2023 it has been a work in progress and a painting from the heart.
